Experience Owen Gunnell live on October 24th
Owen Gunnell, a composer and pianist known for his evocative and often minimalist compositions blending classical, ambient, and electronic elements, is scheduled to perform at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on October 24, 2026. His work frequently explores themes of landscape, memory, and the intersection of natural and artificial soundscapes, often employing prepared piano techniques and subtle electronic processing.
The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall (GRCH) opened in 1999 as part of Glasgow’s cultural regeneration following its designation as European City of Culture in 1990. Designed by architects RMJM, the hall is renowned for its acoustics and its status as Scotland’s national performance venue for classical music. It houses three performance spaces: the main auditorium (the New Auditorium), the smaller Recital Hall, and the Strathclyde Suite. The New Auditorium is particularly noted for its adjustable acoustics achieved through movable panels and a vineyard-style seating arrangement which brings the audience closer to the performers. GRCH regularly hosts performances by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and visiting international ensembles and soloists. The building also incorporates significant public art installations.
