Orchester der Komischen Oper Berlin, the resident orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin, will perform a concert at the Schillertheater on June 5th, 2027. The orchestra is known for its versatility, frequently performing operatic repertoire alongside symphonic works and contemporary compositions. Historically rooted in a tradition of strong dramatic interpretation, the ensemble also demonstrates agility in tackling diverse musical styles, reflecting the Komische Oper’s own broad programming.

The Schillertheater, located in Berlin’s Charlottenburg district, opened in 1969. Designed by architect Walter Gropius, it initially served as a venue for the Berliner Ensemble, founded by Bertolt Brecht and Helene Weigel. The theatre’s architecture is notable for its hexagonal stage and intimate auditorium layout – a deliberate choice to foster a close relationship between performers and audience. Following extensive renovations completed in 2021, the Schillertheater continues to function as a significant performance space for theatre and music within Berlin's cultural landscape. It currently serves as a temporary home for the Deutsche Oper Berlin while its main house undergoes renovation. The building is recognized as an important example of late modernist architecture in Germany.
