Experience Nobuyuki Tsujii live on August 5th
Nobuyuki Tsujii, a Japanese pianist who gained international recognition after winning the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009 despite being visually impaired, will perform at the Opera City Concert Hall in Tokyo on August 5, 2026. Tsujii’s playing is often described as possessing a deeply expressive and poetic quality, characterized by a remarkable technical facility and a sensitive interpretation of both Romantic and contemporary repertoire. He frequently performs works by composers such as Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and Liszt, alongside pieces by modern composers.
Opera City Concert Hall opened in 1997 as part of the larger Opera City Tower complex in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Designed by architect Takahiko Yanagisawa, the hall is known for its excellent acoustics achieved through a vineyard-style seating arrangement – where the audience surrounds the stage on multiple levels – and adjustable acoustic reflectors. This design aims to provide optimal sound projection and intimacy for both performers and listeners. The hall regularly hosts performances by leading orchestras, chamber ensembles, and soloists across various genres including classical music, opera, and jazz.
