Experience Nobuyuki Tsujii live on May 15th
Nobuyuki Tsujii, a Japanese pianist and composer, will perform at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre on May 15, 2027. Tsujii is recognized for his deeply expressive and technically brilliant performances, often characterized by a Romantic sensibility and a particularly nuanced touch. He gained international acclaim after winning the gold medal at the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition – the first Japanese pianist to do so. Despite being born blind, Tsujii’s musicality is widely celebrated for its emotional depth and interpretive power; he performs and composes entirely from memory. His repertoire spans a broad range, including works by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Liszt, as well as his own compositions.
The Hong Kong Cultural Centre, located in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, opened in 1990. It serves as a major performing arts venue in Hong Kong and is managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. The complex houses several performance spaces including the Concert Hall (where Tsujii will perform), the Grand Theatre, and smaller studio theatres. Its architectural design incorporates elements reflecting both modern and traditional Chinese aesthetics.
