Founded in 1992 by the late Horst Bergmeyer, it was initially conceived as a listening room dedicated to American jazz musicians visiting Europe. The club quickly gained renown for its intimate atmosphere and excellent acoustics – intentionally designed to emulate the sound of a recording studio. Over the years, A-Trane has hosted numerous internationally acclaimed artists including Lee Konitz, Joe Lovano and Enrico Rava becoming a vital hub for both established names and emerging talent within the European jazz scene.
