Nighthawks are a German jazz fusion band, active since the 1970s, known for their instrumental compositions blending elements of jazz, rock, and funk. Their sound prominently features saxophone, guitar, and a driving rhythm section, often incorporating extended improvisations and complex arrangements. The band gained recognition within the German "Krautrock" scene but developed a distinctive style moving beyond genre limitations. They have released numerous albums throughout their career and continue to perform internationally.

Quasimodo is a renowned jazz club located in Berlin’s Charlottenburg district. Established in 1975 by Dimitri Golovko, it quickly became a central hub for both established international jazz musicians and emerging local talent. The club’s intimate setting and focus on live music have contributed to its enduring legacy. Quasimodo has hosted performances by a diverse range of artists including Ella Fitzgerald, Max Roach, and Gary Burton.
