Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) is a prominent landmark in The Hague, historically significant as the city’s primary Protestant church. Originally consecrated in 1652, it served as the burial site for members of the Dutch Royal Family from the House of Orange-Nassau until 2015; including William of Orange. Architecturally, it exemplifies Dutch Classicism with Baroque influences. While retaining its religious function for services, Nieuwe Kerk now also functions as a venue for cultural events, exhibitions, and ceremonies. Its acoustics are noted for their resonance and suitability for a variety of musical performances. The building underwent substantial renovations in the late 20th century to modernize facilities while preserving its historical character.
