New Cool Collective will perform at BIRD, located in Rotterdam, Netherlands on February 20, 2027. The band is known for its distinctive blend of jazz, funk, soul, and hip-hop influences, often described as “nu jazz.” Formed in Amsterdam in the early 1990s, they gained prominence for revitalizing instrumental jazz with a danceable edge, incorporating elements of sampling and beat-driven rhythms alongside traditional instrumentation. Throughout their career, New Cool Collective has collaborated with numerous vocalists and musicians across genres.

BIRD opened its doors in 2004 and functions as a music venue and cultural hotspot within Rotterdam’s cultural landscape. Situated in the Witte de Withstraat area – historically known for its art galleries and alternative culture – BIRD specifically focuses on showcasing contemporary jazz and related genres including soul, funk, hip-hop and world music. The venue is recognized for its intimate atmosphere and commitment to supporting both established and emerging artists.
