The Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, the venue for the December 9th, 2026 concert, is a modernist concert hall designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner and inaugurated in 1908. It’s recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, notable for its stunning architectural features incorporating stained glass, sculptures, and mosaic tilework. The building was conceived as a space dedicated to Catalan music and culture during a period of significant cultural revival known as the Renaixença.

Domènech i Montaner intended the Palau to be flooded with natural light and incorporated symbolism relating to Catalan patriotism and musical themes into its design. The hall’s acoustics are highly regarded, making it a favoured venue for orchestral concerts, choral performances, and chamber music recitals. Its ornate interior reflects the Art Nouveau style prevalent at the turn of the 20th century.
