The Latvian Radio Choir will perform at Amare, The Hague, Netherlands on April 3, 2027. Known for its exceptionally pure vocal sound and precise intonation, the choir’s repertoire spans a wide range, from early music and Renaissance polyphony to contemporary compositions and works by Latvian composers. They frequently perform *a cappella* but also collaborate with orchestras and instrumental ensembles. The choir has a long history of award-winning recordings and performances internationally, consistently recognized as one of the world’s leading choral groups.
Amare, opened in 2021, functions as The Hague’s new city hall and cultural beacon. Built on the site of the former City Hall, it incorporates the historic facade while providing modern facilities for performance and civic duties. Designed by Mecanoo architects, Amare houses several venues including the Groot Auditorium – where the Latvian Radio Choir is scheduled to appear – a smaller hall, and various spaces for meetings and events. It aims to be an accessible cultural hub for residents and visitors alike, hosting a diverse program of concerts, dance performances, theatre productions and other artistic endeavors. The building’s design emphasizes sustainability and integration with the surrounding urban landscape.
