Kremerata Baltica, a chamber orchestra founded in 1997 by violinist Gidon Kremer, will perform at Konzertscheune Gohrisch on June 25, 2026. The ensemble is known for its interpretations of classical and contemporary works, often characterized by a distinctive sound blending Eastern European musical traditions with Western classical repertoire. They frequently commission new pieces and collaborate with composers from diverse backgrounds, resulting in performances that emphasize both virtuosity and emotional depth. Konzertscheune Gohrisch is a historically significant venue located in Saxon Switzerland National Park. Originally constructed in 1888 as a large agricultural barn (“Scheune” translates to barn), it underwent extensive renovation in the 1990s transforming it into a concert hall while preserving its rustic architectural features. The building’s acoustics are noted for their natural resonance, contributing to an intimate concert experience. It has become recognized as a cultural center hosting a variety of musical performances, particularly classical music and chamber ensembles, attracting audiences from Germany and neighboring countries.
