Experience Joana Mallwitz live on September 11th

Joana Mallwitz is a German conductor recognized for her insightful interpretations and dynamic presence, particularly within the Romantic and early 20th-century repertoire. Her conducting style is often described as possessing both precision and emotional depth, frequently highlighting textural clarity and dramatic nuance in orchestral works. She has gained prominence through collaborations with leading orchestras internationally, and is currently Chief Conductor of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin.

Konzerthaus Berlin holds a significant place in the city’s musical landscape. Originally built in 1821 as a concert hall commissioned by King Frederick William III, it was heavily damaged during World War II. Reconstructed between 1984-1988, the hall maintains a historically informed acoustic while incorporating modern technical advancements. It's renowned for its exceptional acoustics and elegant architecture, modeled after the Pantheon in Rome. The Konzerthaus Berlin serves as the home base for both the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and the Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, hosting a diverse program of orchestral concerts, chamber music, and opera performances throughout the year. The hall’s history reflects Berlin’s own turbulent past and its enduring commitment to musical excellence.
