Experience Jennifer Koh live on October 15th
Violinist Jennifer Koh will perform at the New World Center in Miami Beach on October 15, 2026. Koh is recognized for her intensely focused and emotionally resonant performances, frequently championing both established repertoire and contemporary works. Her playing is characterized by a technical precision coupled with a deeply expressive quality, often exploring themes of identity, history, and social justice through music. She is a recipient of the MacArthur Fellowship ("Genius Grant") and has been praised for expanding the violin repertoire with commissions from numerous composers.
The New World Center, designed by Frank Gehry, opened in 2011 as a campus for the New World Symphony – America’s Orchestral Academy. The building serves as a performance venue, broadcast facility, and training ground for young musicians. Its distinctive architectural design incorporates a projection wall allowing for multimedia presentations alongside performances. The hall’s acoustics are specifically engineered to support both orchestral sound and digital media integration. The New World Symphony itself provides fully-funded postgraduate orchestral training to fellows selected from auditions across the United States and internationally; the center facilitates their development through performance opportunities and educational programs. It aims to be a hub for artistic innovation and community engagement within Miami Beach.
