3S Artspace is a multi-disciplinary arts organization located in a renovated historic industrial building in Portsmouth’s West End. Originally constructed in 1903 as a machine shop for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard’s Rigging Loft, the building underwent significant renovations following a period of disuse. It opened as 3S Artspace in 2014 with the aim of providing space for visual and performing arts. The venue features a gallery space exhibiting contemporary art, a theater used for live performances including music, dance, and theater productions, and studio spaces available to artists. 3S Artspace actively focuses on supporting local and regional artists while also presenting nationally recognized talent.
