The Music Hall is a historic performing arts center located in downtown Portsmouth. Originally opened in 1878 as a Victorian opera house, it underwent extensive renovations in 2003 restoring many of its original architectural details. It currently functions as a multi-purpose venue hosting film screenings, live music performances, lectures, and community events. The hall comprises three venues: The Historic Theater, the Loft and the Warren Studio. It is noted for its ornate interior and relatively intimate seating capacity within the Historic Theater which contributes to its appeal for diverse programming. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
