Formed in 1996 following a chance meeting between Byron “Big P” Stokes and Bennie Pete at the Original Buckjumpers club, Hot 8 Brass Band initially served as a social aid and pleasure club band, participating in the city’s second line parades. Their sound is characterized by energetic performances, improvisation, and a strong rhythmic foundation driven by percussion and a prominent horn section.

The Wardrobe is a long-standing live music venue located in Leeds city centre. Originally built as a gentlemen’s outfitters in the late 19th century, the building was converted into a nightclub and music venue in the 1980s.
