Roy Thomson Hall, opened in 1982, is Toronto’s primary concert hall and a significant landmark. Designed by Elgin & Chase Architects, with acoustical design by Norbert Schall, the hall is renowned for its excellent acoustics – consistently ranked among the best in the world. It's home to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and hosts a wide variety of performances including classical music concerts, pop and rock shows, and other events. The hall’s design features a distinctive concrete structure and seating for approximately 2,600 people. It underwent significant renovations completed in 2022 focused on enhancing accessibility and improving audience experience while preserving its acoustic integrity.
