DR SymfoniOrkestret (the Danish National Symphony Orchestra) is renowned for its interpretations of both standard orchestral repertoire and contemporary compositions. The orchestra maintains a strong tradition of performing works by Danish composers alongside internationally celebrated pieces, often characterized by a clear, precise sound and dynamic range. Founded in 1925 as the radio symphony orchestra, it has evolved into a leading force in Danish musical life.

The concert on September 26th, 2026 will take place at DR Koncerthuset (the Danish Broadcasting Corporation Concert Hall) in Copenhagen. Opened in 2009, DR Koncerthuset was designed by Jean Nouvel and is notable for its distinctive copper-clad exterior and exceptional acoustics. The building comprises four halls – the Concert Hall (the largest), Studio 2, Studio 3, and the smaller Thorvaldsen Hall – intended to accommodate a wide range of musical events.

The Concert Hall itself is specifically engineered to provide optimal sound diffusion and clarity for symphonic performances. Its design incorporates adjustable elements to tailor the acoustic environment to different ensembles and musical styles.
