DR SymfoniOrkestret (the Danish National Symphony Orchestra) is renowned for its broad repertoire spanning classical and contemporary works, with a particular focus on Danish composers alongside established international masters. The orchestra frequently commissions new pieces and is known for its adventurous programming, balancing tradition with innovation. Founded in 1925 as the radio symphony orchestra, it has a long history of broadcasting and recording, contributing significantly to Danish musical culture.

The concert on September 10th, 2026 will take place at DR Koncerthuset, Copenhagen’s premier concert hall. Opened in 2009, DR Koncerthuset was designed by the architectural firm Lohse & Wesslau Arkitekter, with acoustics overseen by Nagata Acoustics. Its distinctive exterior features a façade of glass and steel, while internally it comprises four halls – the Concert Hall (the main venue), Studio 2, Studio 3 and the smaller Jazz Hall.

The Concert Hall itself is notable for its ‘shoe box’ design considered optimal for orchestral sound and its adjustable acoustics allowing adaptation to various performance types.
