DR SymfoniOrkestret (the Danish National Symphony Orchestra) is renowned for its broad repertoire spanning classical and contemporary works, with a particular emphasis on Danish composers and a commitment to innovative programming. The orchestra maintains a tradition of high artistic standards, frequently collaborating with internationally acclaimed soloists and conductors. It serves as Denmark’s national broadcasting orchestra, regularly performing and recording for radio and television.

The concert on August 15th, 2026 will take place at DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen. Opened in 2009, DR Koncerthuset is Denmark’s premier concert hall and home to DR SymfoniOrkestret, DR Bigband, DR Vokalensemblet, and DR Junior. Designed by Jean Nouvel, the building is architecturally notable for its distinctive asymmetrical blue titanium tile facade and its four distinct halls – the Concert Hall (the largest), Studio 2, Chamber Hall, and Workshop.

The Concert Hall boasts exceptional acoustics specifically designed to showcase symphonic music. The building was conceived as part of a larger urban development project aimed at revitalizing the Ørestad district of Copenhagen.
