DeVotchKa will perform at First Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota on November 2nd, 2027. The band is known for its unique musical style often described as “gypsy punk,” though it incorporates elements of mariachi, Balkan folk, and early American music. Formed in Denver, Colorado in 1999, DeVotchKa gained prominence through their soundtrack work, notably composing the score for the 2006 film *Little Miss Sunshine*. Their sound features prominent use of the sousaphone, accordion, and violin alongside traditional rock instrumentation.

First Avenue, located in Minneapolis, holds significant cultural importance as a legendary music venue. Opened in 1970, it rose to national fame following its depiction in Prince’s 1984 film *Purple Rain*, which was largely filmed within its walls. The venue is recognized for its star-shaped exterior and intimate interior layout.
