WITCH, the Zambian rock band originally active from 1972 to 1983 and reformed in 2015, will perform at The Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 4, 2026. Their music is often described as “Zam-rock,” a unique blend of psychedelic rock, funk, and traditional Zambian musical elements. Formed in Kitwe, Zambia during a period of post-colonial optimism, WITCH – an acronym for We Intend To Change Everything – gained regional popularity before disbanding due to economic hardship and political changes. Their music experienced a revival through compilations released by Now-Again Records in the 2010s, leading to international touring and renewed recognition.

The Cedar Cultural Center is a non-profit venue dedicated to presenting diverse global music and art forms. Established in 1994 and located in the West Bank neighborhood of Minneapolis, it has become a significant hub for both local and international artists focusing on world music, folk, jazz, and other genres not typically featured in larger commercial venues.
