Jazz Concerts in Berlin
Experience Devin Gray live on August 31st
Devin Gray is a contemporary American composer and pianist known for his minimalist, ambient, and often deeply meditative musical style. His work frequently incorporates extended piano techniques, subtle electronic processing, and explores themes of space, resonance, and altered states of consciousness. Gray’s compositions are characterized by slow harmonic shifts, delicate textures, and a focus on the sonic qualities of the instrument itself. He has released albums on labels such as Room40 and Important Records and performs internationally.
Galiläakirche, located in Berlin-Schöneberg, is a former Protestant church consecrated in 1893. Designed by architect Wilhelm Böckmann in the Neo-Gothic style, it served as a place of worship for over a century. Following dwindling congregation numbers, the building was secularized in 2005 and repurposed as a venue for cultural events.
The Galiläakirche is noted for its exceptional acoustics due to its high vaulted ceilings and stone construction. It now regularly hosts concerts spanning genres including classical, experimental music, jazz and electronic performances. The space retains many original architectural features contributing to its unique atmosphere.
