Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin (DSO Berlin) is renowned for its historically informed performances and a broad repertoire spanning from Baroque to contemporary music. Founded in 1946, it evolved from the RIAS Symphony Orchestra, initially broadcasting for RIAS Berlin, and has established itself as a prominent ensemble within the German orchestral landscape.

The concert on November 8, 2026, will take place at the Philharmonie Berlin. Completed in 1963, the Philharmonie is celebrated for its distinctive vineyard-style seating arrangement – designed to bring the audience closer to the orchestra – and exceptional acoustics. It was built on the site of the former Beethoven Hall, destroyed during World War II, and quickly became a symbol of West Berlin’s cultural rebirth. Designed by architect Hans Scharoun, its irregular pentagonal shape and interior were revolutionary for concert hall design at the time. The building underwent extensive renovation between 2013 and 2015 to further enhance its acoustic properties and modernize facilities while preserving Scharoun’s original vision.
