Claire Chase will perform at the Linde Center for Music and Learning in Lenox, Massachusetts on August 8, 2026. Chase is a flutist renowned for her dedication to expanding the possibilities of the instrument and contemporary music. Her work frequently incorporates extended techniques, electronics, and interdisciplinary collaborations, often commissioning new pieces and developing projects that explore the relationship between sound, space, and performance practice. She is a MacArthur Fellow and has been described as “a pioneer” for her work with new flute repertoire.

The Linde Center for Music and Learning opened in 2019 as part of Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Designed by William Rawn Associates, the Center aims to foster a deeper connection between audiences and performing artists through innovative programming and architectural design. Its facilities include the 500-seat Lionel Novak Concert Hall, known for its exceptional acoustics, as well as learning spaces designed to support educational initiatives throughout the year. The Center’s construction was made possible by a significant gift from Amanda and George Linde, supporting Tanglewood’s commitment to music education and artistic exploration.
