Experience Yo-Yo Ma live on August 6th
Yo-Yo Ma will perform at Seiji Ozawa Hall in Lenox, Massachusetts on August 6, 2026. Ma is internationally renowned as a cellist, celebrated for his expressive interpretations and virtuosity across a diverse repertoire. His musical style isn’t confined to traditional classical performance; he actively explores the use of music to connect cultures and promote understanding, incorporating influences from folk, jazz, and contemporary styles into his work. He is known for his warm tone and deeply emotive playing.
Seiji Ozawa Hall is the summer home of the Tanglewood Music Center, a fellowship program of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Opened in 1994, the hall was designed by William Rawn Associates and provides an intimate concert setting contrasting with Tanglewood’s larger Shed venue. It's named in honor of Seiji Ozawa, the long-time Music Director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (1973-1999), who significantly shaped Tanglewood’s programming during his tenure. The hall’s acoustics are specifically designed to support chamber music and smaller orchestral ensembles, fostering a close connection between performers and audience.
