Experience Danish String Quartet live on July 30th
The Danish String Quartet will perform at Seiji Ozawa Hall in Lenox, Massachusetts on July 30, 2026. The quartet is internationally recognized for its insightful and expressive interpretations of classical, Scandinavian, and contemporary repertoire. Their performances are characterized by a warm tonal quality, rhythmic precision, and a palpable sense of camaraderie, often incorporating elements of improvisation and a playful approach to musical form. While rooted in traditional string quartet literature – including composers like Beethoven, Haydn, and Bartók – they also frequently explore lesser-known works and commission new pieces.
Seiji Ozawa Hall is a modern outdoor concert venue located on the grounds of Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Opened in 1994, it was designed by William Rawn Associates and provides an intimate setting for chamber music performances. The hall is named in honor of Seiji Ozawa, the highly acclaimed conductor who served as music director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra from 1973 to 1980 and again from 1980 to 1999.
