His compositions frequently incorporate improvisation and a focus on textural soundscapes.

Tanglewood is the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Established in 1937 through a gift of land from Belle Endicott and Natalie Clifford Barney, it was conceived as a dedicated performance space designed to enhance the orchestra’s summer season. The venue’s original shell was constructed in 1938 and underwent significant renovations over the decades, most notably with the opening of the current Koussevitzky Music Shed in 1994.
