Château de Maisons-Laffitte, the venue for this concert, is a significant example of French classical architecture. Constructed between 1681 and 1722 for René de Longueil, secretary to Louis XIV’s finances, it was designed by Jules Hardouin-Mansart. The castle showcases the grandeur of the era with its symmetrical design and extensive gardens influenced by André Le Nôtre, who also worked at Versailles. It served as a model for many aristocratic residences constructed during the late 17th and early 18th centuries.
