The orchestra, comprised of student musicians from BYU, typically presents a repertoire spanning the standard orchestral literature from Baroque through contemporary periods, with a noted strength in performing large-scale Romantic and 20th/21st-century works. Bridgewater Hall, opened in September 1996, is Manchester’s international concert hall and a prominent venue for classical music performance. Designed by Renton, Eggert & Boyle, its acoustics were meticulously planned with input from Russell Johnson of acousticians Artec Consultants Inc., aiming for a natural reverberation considered ideal for both orchestral and chamber music. The hall is home to the Hallé Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Manchester Camerata and hosts over 250 performances annually across various genres but is particularly renowned for its classical music offerings. Its construction was part of a larger regeneration project for the city centre following the 1996 Manchester bombing. The hall's capacity is approximately 2,376 seats.
