Bridgewater Hall opened in September 1996 and is Manchester’s international concert hall. It was designed by Renton, Eggert & Boyle with acoustic consultancy by Nagata Acoustics. It serves as the home of the Hallé Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Manchester Camerata; additionally hosting a diverse range of visiting orchestras and performers. The hall's design incorporates a ‘room within a room’ construction to isolate it from external vibrations – particularly from nearby trams – ensuring optimal sound quality. Its main auditorium seats approximately 2,345 people and features a distinctive curved roof structure.
