The Brigham Young University (BYU) Philharmonic Orchestra is scheduled to perform at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, United Kingdom on January 16, 2027. The orchestra, comprised of student musicians from BYU, typically presents a repertoire spanning the standard orchestral canon – encompassing works from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th/21st-century periods. Bridgewater Hall opened in 1996 and is Manchester’s international concert hall. Designed by Renton, Eastwood & Alistair with acoustic consultancy by Nagata Acoustics, it is renowned for its exceptional acoustics, consistently ranking among the finest concert halls globally. The hall replaced the Free Trade Hall as the primary performance space for the Hallé Orchestra and hosts a diverse range of musical genres including classical music, jazz, and contemporary performances. Its design incorporates a ‘vineyard’ configuration with seating arranged around the central stage to optimize sound projection and audience experience. The hall also features significant public art installations and serves as a cultural hub within the city of Manchester.
