The Brigham Young University (BYU) Philharmonic Orchestra is scheduled to perform at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, United Kingdom, on December 4th, 2026. The orchestra, comprised of student musicians from BYU, typically presents a repertoire spanning classical periods, frequently including works from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic eras. Bridgewater Hall, opened in 1996, is Manchester’s international concert hall and a prominent venue for classical music performance. Designed by Renton, Eggert & Cole Associates and acoustically refined by Russell Johnson Associates, it is renowned for its exceptional acoustics – consistently ranked amongst the best in Europe. The hall hosts a wide range of ensembles including the Hallé Orchestra (its resident orchestra), the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and visiting international orchestras. Its construction was partially funded by a grant from the Bridgewater Hall Company Ltd., formed to secure funding and oversee the project. The building itself incorporates elements of Victorian architecture while providing modern facilities for performers and audiences alike. It stands on the site of the former Central Station railway station goods warehouse.
