Bugge Wesseltoft, a Norwegian pianist and composer, will perform at Nica Jazz Club in Hamburg, Germany on October 4th, 2026. Wesseltoft is recognized for his contributions to the development of “new jazz,” blending elements of electronic music, particularly house and techno, with traditional jazz improvisation and harmonic structures. His work often features atmospheric soundscapes and rhythmic complexity, moving beyond conventional jazz piano styles. He has released numerous albums under his own name and as part of the influential trio Bugge Wesseltoft Trio.

Nica Jazz Club occupies a historic location within the St. Pauli district of Hamburg, housed in a former ballroom dating back to the early 20th century. Established in 1989, it’s known for its intimate setting and dedication to showcasing both established international jazz artists and emerging talent. The club’s name honors the patron of the arts Baroness Nica de Koenigswarter, a significant figure in jazz history who supported musicians like Thelonious Monk and Charlie Parker.
