Experience Braxton Cook live on October 15th
Braxton Cook is a contemporary jazz saxophonist and composer known for blending elements of jazz improvisation with hip-hop, R&B, and electronic music influences. His sound is characterized by intricate melodies, soulful harmonic progressions, and a focus on groove. He gained prominence through self-released projects and collaborations before signing with Fresh Selects Records, releasing albums like “Somewhere Between Your World and Mine” and “Funk Forward.” Cook’s performances often feature a dynamic interplay between composed material and extended improvisational sections.
The Gaillard Center, located in Charleston, South Carolina, is a multi-disciplinary performing arts venue. Originally constructed as a civic center in 1900, it underwent a comprehensive $38 million renovation completed in 2015. The renovation preserved the historic exterior while modernizing the interior to create state-of-the-art performance spaces.
The Center now houses the Martha & John M. Rivers Performance Hall – a 1,800-seat concert hall designed for orchestral performances, Broadway shows, and large-scale concerts – alongside smaller event spaces.
