Experience Biréli Lagrène live on June 27th
Biréli Lagrène is a French jazz guitarist renowned for his virtuosity and stylistic versatility. Initially gaining prominence as a Django Reinhardt-inspired “gypsy jazz” musician in the 1980s, Lagrène’s musical journey has encompassed explorations into bebop, mainstream jazz, and fusion. He is celebrated for his rapid technique, harmonic sophistication, and ability to seamlessly blend various jazz traditions with influences from classical and world music. He frequently performs solo, in trio, or with larger ensembles.
The concert will take place at the Château de Maisons-Laffitte, a significant example of French classical architecture located in Maisons-Laffitte, Yvelines. Constructed between 1684 and 1722 by François Mansart for Thomas-Gabriel Vialart de Moligny, the château represents a pivotal moment in the evolution of French Baroque design. It served as a model for later royal residences, including parts of Versailles.
Throughout its history, the château has experienced periods of royal ownership – notably acquired by Louis XIV – and various uses including a military school during the Napoleonic era.
