Experience Bill Ryder-Jones live on August 28th
Bill Ryder-Jones will perform at Muncaster Castle, near Barrow-in-Furness, United Kingdom on August 28, 2026. Ryder-Jones is a British musician known for his emotionally resonant and atmospheric indie rock. His work often features layered instrumentation, incorporating elements of orchestral arrangements alongside guitar-based songwriting, and frequently explores themes of memory, nostalgia and personal experience. He initially gained prominence as a member of the Liverpool-based band The Coral before embarking on a successful solo career.
Muncaster Castle dates back to the 13th century, though the current structure largely reflects alterations made between the 1830s and 1910s by the Penningtons. Historically a stronghold guarding the Ravenglass estuary, it has been continuously inhabited for over 800 years by the same family – currently the Frognetts. The castle is noted for its gardens, which are renowned for their Himalayan blue poppies and extensive collection of plants brought back from expeditions around the world. It is also reputed to be one of Britain’s most haunted locations with documented accounts spanning centuries. The grounds include a maze and bird of prey centre alongside its historical features.
