Haus der Sinne (House of Senses) is a privately-owned venue located in Berlin-Schöneberg. Originally constructed as a ballroom in 1912 under the name Ballhaus Bergmann, it has a long history as a social and cultural space for the city's residents. Throughout its existence, it functioned as a dance hall catering to various communities; notably experiencing periods as a popular location for working-class dances and later serving as an American soldiers’ club after WWII. Following periods of disuse and renovation, it reopened as Haus der Sinne in 2008 focusing on live music performances – particularly jazz, soul, funk and related genres – alongside hosting other cultural events like exhibitions and workshops.
