Classical Concerts in Barcelona

Experience Banda Municipal de Barcelona live on May 23rd

Banda Municipal de Barcelona will perform a concert at L'Auditori in Barcelona on May 23, 2027. The Banda Municipal de Barcelona is a wind orchestra with a repertoire spanning over 125 years, encompassing original compositions for band, transcriptions of orchestral works, and arrangements of popular and traditional Catalan music. Their style blends classical traditions with distinctly Mediterranean influences, often featuring vibrant and technically demanding performances. The band frequently commissions new works, contributing to the contemporary wind band literature.

L'Auditori, inaugurated in 1999, serves as the main concert hall for the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra (Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya - OBC). Designed by Rafael Moneo, the building is notable for its modernist architecture and exceptional acoustics. It comprises two halls: the Sala Sinfónica, primarily used for symphonic concerts and possessing a capacity of approximately 2,200 seats; and the Sala de Cambra, a smaller hall suited for chamber music and recitals. L’Auditori is a significant cultural landmark in Barcelona and plays host to a diverse range of musical genres throughout the year.
