Originally established in 1917 as part of the Swedish state alcohol monopoly’s production facilities, it ceased alcohol production in 1978. The site subsequently underwent redevelopment into a cultural centre and event space. It now hosts a variety of events including concerts, exhibitions, theatre performances and conferences. The building retains many original industrial features alongside modern additions designed to accommodate its new function. Its architecture blends historical industrial design with contemporary artistic spaces making it a notable venue within the region's cultural landscape.
