Malatný’s compositions often feature extended techniques on the piano, incorporating prepared piano and microtonality alongside lyrical melodies. He’s garnered significant acclaim for his solo piano work, notably albums like *With All Possible Care* (2018) and *Foreign Landscapes* (2023), both released on First Impression Music. These recordings showcase his unique harmonic language and evocative storytelling through instrumental music.
He’s a frequent performer internationally, appearing at festivals such as the MUTEK festival in Montreal and the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in the UK.
