The Zemlinsky Quartet will perform at Vila Tugendhat in Brno, Czechia on November 8, 2026. Vila Tugendhat is a historically significant example of functionalist architecture, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and completed in 1930 for Grete and Fritz Tugendhat. It’s recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, celebrated for its innovative open-plan design featuring extensive use of glass walls and an emphasis on the relationship between interior space and the surrounding landscape. The villa represents a pivotal moment in modern architecture, prioritizing simplicity and elegance.

Following periods of disuse and restoration—including significant work to repair damage sustained during World War II and subsequent alterations—Vila Tugendhat was fully reopened to the public in 2014.
