Experience Zachary Wilder live on August 5th
Zachary Wilder is a contemporary American composer and harpsichordist whose work frequently blends historical performance practice with avant-garde sensibilities. His compositions often draw inspiration from Baroque and Renaissance musical forms, reimagined through a distinctly modern lens, incorporating elements of improvisation and extended techniques. He is known for exploring the timbral possibilities of the harpsichord and other historical instruments, creating music that is both intellectually rigorous and emotionally resonant.
The performance on August 5th, 2026, will take place at Drottningholm Slottsteater, a UNESCO World Heritage site located on the island of Lovön in Stockholm, Sweden. Originally constructed in 1766–1770 on commission from Queen Lovisa Ulrika, it is considered one of the best-preserved examples of an 18th-century court theatre. Uniquely, the theatre was designed to resemble a French Baroque theatre and was built *within* an existing palace building – the Queen’s private apartments.
Throughout its history, Drottningholm Slottsteater has been used for opera, drama, ballet and concerts.
