yonglee & the DOLTANG, a South Korean musical group, will be performing at Rákóczi Tér in Budapest, Hungary on July 3rd, 2026. Their music is characterized as a blend of traditional Korean shamanic ritual music – specifically *gut* – with elements of post-punk, noise rock, and electronic music. The group often incorporates traditional Korean instruments alongside electric guitars and synthesizers, creating a distinctly energetic and unconventional sound. They are known for their visually striking performances which often feature elaborate costumes and stage designs referencing Korean folklore.

Rákóczi Tér is a significant public square in Budapest’s VIII district, historically and culturally important to the city. Named after Ferenc II Rákóczi, a leader of the Hungarian uprising against Habsburg rule in the early 18th century, the square has served as a focal point for political demonstrations and national celebrations throughout its history. A prominent statue of Rákóczi dominates the square. In more recent times, it has become a bustling urban space with shops, restaurants and serves as a transportation hub due to its proximity to metro lines and tram stops.
