Xiu Xiu will perform at the Texas Theatre in Dallas, Texas on October 10, 2026. Xiu Xiu, the project spearheaded by Jamie Stewart, is recognized for its experimental and often challenging musical style. Frequently categorized as noise rock, art punk, or experimental electronic, their work incorporates elements of industrial music, glitch, and deconstructed pop. Lyrically, themes often explore trauma, sexuality, and psychological distress; sonically it’s characterized by abrasive textures, unconventional song structures, and Stewart’s distinctive vocal delivery. The band has released numerous albums since forming in 2002 and maintains a dedicated cult following.

The Texas Theatre holds a significant place in Dallas history. Originally opening in 1932 as a movie palace during the golden age of cinema, it quickly became a prominent entertainment venue. Notably, Lee Harvey Oswald was apprehended there on November 22nd, 1963 following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. After periods of decline and closure, the theatre was revitalized in the 1990s and now operates as an independent cinema and live performance space showcasing film screenings, concerts, and other cultural events.
