Ton Koopman will perform at the Auditorium Rainier III in Monte-Carlo, Monaco on April 4, 2027. Koopman is internationally recognized as a harpsichordist, organist, and conductor specializing in Baroque music. His interpretations are characterized by a historically informed performance practice, prioritizing clarity of articulation, rhythmic vitality, and a deep understanding of the ornamentation prevalent in the music of composers like Bach, Handel, and Scarlatti. He frequently performs and records with both period instruments and modern instruments adapted to historical specifications.

Auditorium Rainier III opened in 1981 and serves as a major cultural venue within the Principality of Monaco. Designed by architect Vaudoyer, it’s known for its adaptable acoustics allowing it to host a diverse range of performances including orchestral concerts, opera, ballet, theatre and conferences. The auditorium has a capacity of approximately 800 seats and is situated within the Monte-Carlo cultural complex near the Grimaldi Forum. It is named in honour of Prince Rainier III of Monaco who was a strong supporter of the arts. The venue regularly hosts performances by internationally acclaimed artists and ensembles.
