The Elbphilharmonie itself is a concert hall in the HafenCity district of Hamburg. Construction began in 2007 and was completed in 2017 after significant delays and cost overruns. Built atop an older warehouse structure known as the Kaispeicher A, its distinctive glass facade and wave-like roof have become iconic landmarks. The hall is celebrated for its exceptional acoustics, designed by Yasuhisa Toyota. It houses two primary concert halls: the Grand Hall (Elbphilharmonie Hall) with seating for 2,100, and the smaller Recital Hall (Kaispeicher A Hall) accommodating 550 guests.
