The Carolina Theatre originally opened in 1926 as a movie palace and vaudeville house. Designed in the High Victorian style by George C. After periods of decline and closure in the late 20th century, a significant restoration project was completed in 2003. The restored theatre now functions as a non-profit performing arts center hosting a diverse range of events including concerts, films, theatrical productions and community gatherings. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and maintains many of its original architectural features alongside modern upgrades for performance capabilities. The venue has a seating capacity of approximately 1085.
