Todd Marcus is a jazz clarinetist and composer known for his distinctive sound rooted in New Orleans traditions, yet incorporating influences from Middle Eastern music, particularly maqam. His work frequently features original compositions blending improvisation with complex rhythmic and melodic structures inspired by his studies of Arabic music theory and practice. Marcus often performs with his ensemble, Todd Marcus & The New Orleans Quintet, exploring themes of social justice and personal narrative through his music.

Jacob’s Pillow is a National Historic Landmark dance center located in Becket, Massachusetts. Founded in 1931 by Ted Shawn, it began as a school for men interested in dance and quickly evolved into a renowned festival presenting a diverse range of dance performances – ballet, contemporary, jazz, and international styles. The campus comprises several performance spaces including the open-air Marjorie S. Deane Stage, the intimate Studio Theatre, and the historic Ted Shawn Theatre.
