The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center is a restored 1905 vaudeville house located in the heart of Great Barrington. Originally built as a social and cultural hub for the Berkshire County community, it hosted a variety of performances – from traveling theatrical productions to silent films – during its early years. Following a period of decline in the mid-20th century, the building underwent extensive renovations completed in 2005, transforming it into a modern performing arts venue while retaining its historic architectural features. The Mahaiwe now presents a diverse range of programming including concerts, film screenings, dance performances, and theatrical productions.
